Biography

Burton Miller is a native of Athens, Georgia, and a graduate of Furman University, where he earned degrees in History and Political Science with a minor in Latin American Studies. He went on to receive his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 2019.

During law school, Burton gained meaningful, hands-on experience interning for Judge Ural Glanville in the Family Division of Fulton County Superior Court and with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, where he helped victims of domestic abuse secure protection orders. He also served as President of the Family Law Society and was selected as a pupil for the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court — an honor he carried into active membership after graduation.

Family law is more than a practice area for Burton — it’s also personal. Adopted at five months old and raised in a divorced household, he witnessed firsthand the difference thoughtful and respectful co-parenting could make in a child’s life. That experience shaped his decision to dedicate his career exclusively to family law. Since 2020, he has focused on domestic litigation, including divorce, contested child custody, domestic violence, legitimation, and contempt matters.

Outside the courtroom, Burton calls Grant Park home. He’s a devoted UGA football fan who makes regular fall trips to Athens, and he cheers just as enthusiastically for the Atlanta Braves.
