Biography

Katie is a compassionate and highly skilled family law attorney who brings a unique personal perspective to her practice. As a child of divorce, Katie understands firsthand the emotional challenges that accompany family law matters. This personal experience drives her passion for advocating for clients and providing them with the support they need during some of life’s most difficult times.

Katie graduated with honors from the Georgia State University College of Law in 2017, where she was recognized with the prestigious Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Custle-Tuggle Award for Excellence in Family Law and the CALI Award in Family Law.

Throughout law school, Katie actively engaged in family law, serving as the Secretary of the Family Law Society and earning recognition as a Pupil in the Charles Weltner Inn of Court during her final year. She also gained invaluable experience through her externships with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer’s Foundation Safe Families Office, where she advocated for survivors of domestic violence, and the Family Law Division, where she supported the staff attorney in serving clients.

Katie’s deep passion for family law was further nurtured by clerking for a judge in the family law division of the Superior Court of Fulton County, and later interning at another boutique family law firm, where she assisted on complex domestic law cases. These experiences helped shape her understanding of both the legal and emotional aspects of family law, equipping her to advocate effectively for her clients.

Before becoming an attorney, Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts in History cum laude from Agnes Scott College and participated in an enriching international study abroad program, where she gained a global perspective that enhances her approach to family law.

As an attorney at Kessler & Solomiany, Katie is committed to providing her clients with compassionate, individualized legal representation, specializing in divorce, contested child custody, high-asset division, domestic violence cases, and complex prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Outside of the office, Katie is an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section and enjoys spending her free time with her loved ones or outside in nature. Whether she’s practicing yoga, enjoying live music, or making memories with family and friends, Katie approaches life with the same passion and dedication she brings to her legal practice.
