Biography

Katie graduated with honors from the Georgia State University College of Law in 2017, where she earned the Georgia Chapter of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Custle-Tuggle Award for Excellence in Family Law, as well as the CALI Award in Family Law. Throughout law school, Katie served as the Secretary of the Family Law Society, and in her final year, she qualified as a Pupil in the Charles Weltner Inn of Court.

While in law school, Katie externed with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer’s Foundation Safe Families Office, where she advocated for survivors of domestic violence seeking Temporary Protective Orders, and later for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer’s Foundation Family Law Division, where she worked along-side the staff attorney. Katie spent her second summer in law school clerking for a judge in the family law division of the Superior Court of Fulton County. While in her final year of law school, Katie interned with Boyd Collar Nolen Tuggle & Roddenberry, LLC where she performed legal research and was exposed to complex domestic issues.

Prior to attending law school, Katie received her Bachelor of Arts in History cum laude from Agnes Scott College, where she also was able to participate in an international study abroad and language immersion program.

Having practiced exclusively family law, Katie focuses on providing clients with an individualized approach to his or her family law needs. Prior to joining Kessler & Solomiany, Katie worked as an associate attorney at Hedgepeth Heredia, LLC, gaining experience in areas such as divorce, contested child custody, complex and high asset division, domestic violence, alimony, and drafting complex prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Outside of the office, Katie participates in the Atlanta Bar Association’ s Family Law Section. She enjoys seeing live music, running, and spending time with friends, family, and her beloved pets, Millie and Murphy.
